The Big E is just a week away!! We've been doing a lot of prep work. The skit is coming along really well. Everybody remember to bring their costumes/props! Here is a list of props and costumes that everybody needs:

Jen: Pink outfit
Annika: Messy outfit with stains/rips on it
Elena: Clipboard, black pants, decide on a shirt together, pen
Caty: Clipboard, black pants, decide on a shirt together, pen
Sophia: Sophisticated outfit, magnifying glass

I think these are most of them. There is also a list on your script. We are also going to get a lot of dum dums to hand out in the end when we are sing the lollipop song, and for the parade!

Summer!!

Hi Plant a Smile and others! Summer is here! Summer is a busy time; with everybody coming and going it is pretty hard to set up a meeting. Even though it may not seem like it, the Big E is right around the corner! The Big E had over 1 million visitors last year, and Lamps of Lava lured a lot of those people to come check out our awesome action table, along with everything 4h. We are lucky enough to get the chance to go back this year. I hope we are just as successful, and have just as much fun! :)

Tree Tour With Rob

Toady we, Plant A Smile, went to the Newton Cemetery to help the cemetery's arborist, Rob, start marking 100 trees using our Arc GIS software and our GPS. In order to become a level 2 arboretum, the cemetery needs to mark at least 100 different tree specimens. So they turned to the fairest ones of all... Plant A Smile!
Jen, Katharine, Sophia, Annika, Elena, and Daisy helped out Rob on Tuesday May 27, 2014 at 2:15.
Keep calm and smile/plant on!

Cemetery Treasure Hunt

Today we went to the cemetery to map all the solders. Even though it was very cold, we still had a lot of fun!

State Visual Presentations

We all had an amazing time at State Visual Presentations and we all did really well! Now we're just counting down the days until the Big E!

Working on Civil War Project

Today we made lollipops, practiced using Arc GIS, highlighted where the soldiers were buried in the cemetery on maps, and went on a fun walk! To get familiar with using the new software, we made our own map that showed where some of us lived, and we added pictures on the map too. You can view this map by clicking the link on to the right on the blog. Once you click on the link, their will be points marked that show where each of us live, you can click on the point to get more information and the picture.
Our walk was lots of fun!!
